Often, a particular book will find its way to me when I most need to hear its message. The real power of the words may elude me at the time. However, unbeknownst to me, they move deep into my subconscious. But eventually, I realize, sometimes after years go by, that I continue to hear the author whispering in my ear. Their wisdom is resurrected as I struggle with a new problem. These are the books I keep on my shelf, the books I recommend to others.
